I ran across a booklet they other day put out by Partners In MInistry.Looking it over stopped me in my tracks. That is because it asked questions that we have all asked at one time or another, questions that I had been asked and basically avoided answering.
I want to correct that now. This will be the first of 7 questions. Today I want to discuss the question “Why Do I Exist?”
Most of us, 1- have never asked that question and 2-and if w have, we puzzled over the answer. This is a sad way to live, not knowing why we are here and what purpose we have. There is more to life to life than simply satisfying the physical and intellectual needs of the body and mind.
The God who created you expected you to live a life for a higher purpose than just pleasing yourself. He wants you to glorify God! The bible says this: “with one heart and mouth you may glorify the father of our Lord Jesus Christ”
You are so important to God that He invites you to have a personal relationship with Him. God has a wonderful purpose for each and every life. Then he will surround you with his love. The bible puts it this way, ” and we know that in all things, God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose,
(Romans 8:28)
But you say, what is His purpose for me? As you walk with Christ each and every day, and as you communicate with Him through prayer and meditation, He will reveal to you how you can work in his Army on this earth. Of course the first thing He wants us to do is to follow Him and Love Him with all your soul, heart, mind and spirit. Then you will be open to his call to you.
When Jesus was on earth, he called his disciples to become part of an incredible mission. That mission was finding people whose lives had no meaning, people who were cut off from God through sin and restoring them to a loving relationship with their creator.
You have a reason to exist a wonderful purpose for life and you can achieve direction in your life by connecting with Jesus Christ. He will give you a reason to exist. A significant purpose for living. Amen
